Editorial Standards

The principles that guide how CompareCompass researches, writes, and updates its content.

Accuracy and Research

We aim to present useful, accurate, and understandable information. Factual claims should be checked against reliable sources where possible, and important specifications or service conditions should be verified before publication. When a detail can't be verified, we leave it out or clearly mark it as pending verification.

Reviews and Comparisons

Reviews and comparisons should explain the relevant criteria, differences, benefits, limitations, and intended audiences. Recommendations should be supported by the information available and should not imply that one option is best for every reader.

Sources and Updates

We use relevant manufacturer documentation, official service information, product specifications, and other reliable sources where appropriate, and list them on each article. We correct material errors when identified and update content when meaningful changes are verified. Articles show both a publication date and, where relevant, an updated date.

Editorial Independence and Commercial Relationships

Commercial relationships and affiliate links must not be concealed. Compensation, or the possibility of earning a commission, should never be presented as proof that a product or service is superior. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

AI-Assisted Content

If AI tools are used to assist with research, organization, or drafting, content must still undergo appropriate fact-checking and editorial review before publication. AI-generated material must not be used to fabricate product tests, expert quotations, customer reviews, or first-hand experiences.

Images and Intellectual Property

Images should only be published when their use is authorized or otherwise legally permitted. Product imagery must not be misleadingly presented as original photography or as evidence of hands-on testing.
